Sterile Processing Technician – Full-Time

Location: Worcester, MA
Position Type: Full-Time (FT)
Shift Availability: Days or Evenings
Compensation: $18 - $30/hr (Depending on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus/Relocation: Available
Differential Pay: Yes
On-Call: Yes

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, knowledge of sterilization techniques, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patient care.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical supplies.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
  • Assemble and inspect surgical instrument trays for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure the timely availability of sterile instruments.
  • Prepare and deliver surgical case carts and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Track and document sterilization cycles using various software applications.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician course with field training OR one year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Technician.
  • Experience:
  • Preferred: One year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician with completion of a formal sterile processing technician course.
  • Certification:
  • Required: BLS certification.
  • Certification with IAHCSMM (CBSPD) required within 8 months of hire. Compensation & Benefits:
