Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Senior Director of IT in Dallas, TX. The Senior Director of IT will develop and lead the overall technology roadmap, strategic objectives and tactical execution, implementing innovative technology solutions that ensure continued competitive advantage. This is a hybrid role, reporting to the Dallas office only when needed.
Senior Director of IT Job Responsibilities:
• Develop a long and short-term technology roadmap that supports the company's strategic growth plan and build value.
• Implement an architecture and design plan for system and application integration across multiple business environments; and support the continued development of strong IT leaders and teammates.
• Evaluate the company's existing technology and application platforms to identify opportunities for continued integration and alignment.
• Take a holistic view towards technology stakeholders including leveraging technology to further embed the company's services and operating model into its customer's workflows and businesses.
• Support business goals by contributing to strategic planning and execution. Work closely with Senior Business Leaders to align IT processes and procedures with overall business goals, identifying opportunities to enhance profitability and performance through the adoption of improved technologies. Contribute to business planning and growth by advocating for the IT during strategy meetings
• Leverage cloud and subscription based operating models to drive transparency, speed and alignment across the organization
• Make the company's technology platform a key component of their competitive advantage, bringing visibility, analytics and enhanced ease to the company's customer relationships.
• Design and build a technology leadership team and organization that is closely aligned with the business and brings strategic value and enablement to the company's growth agenda.
• Optimize the company's technology spend (CAPEX and operating spend) in light of the overall growth, investment and profitability commitments of the business.
• Facilitate on-going investment leverage in technology that improves efficiency and quality and reduces overall operating costs.
• Ensure continued cybersecurity excellence protecting company operations and intangible assets.
• Align closely with the company's business and operations leaders, developing a technology plan that supports rapid deployment of nimble, best-in-class technology solutions.
• Approve, prioritize and control the IT project demands; negotiate prioritization and timelines as appropriate and necessary.
• Conduct periodic audits in conjunction with IT professionals to assess gaps in the organization’s information security and retention procedures, enact solutions to strengthen data security, and present ideas to enhance data management processes.
• Maintain profitability and reduce costs by negotiating directly with outside vendors and suppliers. This requires excellent relationship-building skills along with a solid grasp of the organization’s IT needs.
• Assess current vendor prices and policies, identifying opportunities to cut overall costs on IT products and services; Involve in negotiations and contract development with new vendors.
• Develop and manage enterprise-wide IT budgets. Assess company’s needs and current suppliers, determine annual and monthly budgets, ensuring that IT efforts align with budgets, projections and overall corporate guidelines.
• Employs various initiatives to coach employees to optimize their capabilities.
• Completes performance reviews in a prudent manner.
• Keeps abreast of government regulations applicable to systems operations and ensures corporate compliance.
Senior Director of IT Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in information technology and data management.
• Minimum of 5 years leadership experience.
• A proven track record leading a significant technology platform transformation in a related distribution/Retail/Supply chain intensive operating model.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a technology related area, Business Administration, or other field of study, with significant relevant IT work experience.
• Extensive experience with IT strategic planning, budgeting, and personnel management
• Outstanding leadership and team building experience in both outsourced and in-house technology platform environments consistent with the ability to design a future state technology strategy and platform that leverages the best of both worlds.
• High business acumen and compelling executive presence that will translate into an active, engaging contribution to the company's business strategy.
• A compelling communication ability that engenders confidence, commitment, optimism and action with all key stakeholders including the board of directors, senior leadership, associates, customers and vendor partners.
