Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an entry-level Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our client’s service team. This position is ideal for a motivated candidate with 1-2 years of experience or an apprentice looking for a full-time opportunity. The role focuses on scheduled maintenance and basic troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (RTUs), compressors, ductwork, and insulation.

Inspect, clean, and replace filters, belts, coils, and other system components to ensure optimal performance.

Conduct basic troubleshooting and assist senior technicians with system diagnostics and repairs.
-
Use gauges and multimeters to test system functionality and detect potential issues.
-
Follow service manuals and technical documents to complete scheduled maintenance tasks efficiently.
-
Maintain detailed service reports and communicate findings with supervisors.
-
Ensure safety and compliance with HVAC industry standards and regulations.
-
Work closely with senior technicians to gain hands-on experience and further develop HVAC skills.

1-2 years of experience in commercial or residential HVAC installation or maintenance.

Basic knowledge of ductwork, insulation, welding refrigerant lines, and rooftop units (RTUs).

Familiarity with HVAC tools and equipment, including gauges, multimeters, and leak detectors.

Ability to read and follow service manuals, blueprints, and technical diagrams.

Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn from experienced technicians.

Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required.

Must pass background check and drug screening.

Eager to grow in the HVAC industry and transition from an apprentice role to a full-time career.

Hardworking, hands-on learner, and open to training from senior technicians.

Strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.

Team player with excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate.

Comfortable working in various environments, including rooftops and confined spaces.

EPA 608 Universal Certification (preferred but not required).

OSHA Safety Training.

NATE Certification.
