Job Description:
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Senior Engineer for our client located in Fort Worth, TX. This role will be based at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing facility. The Senior Engineer will lead operations of the Dalmar solution and wastewater treatment plants, acting as the technical lead for various production and treatment processes. This position involves both management and project work and will report to a team of approximately 14 employees.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team including operators, supervisors, mechanics, and technicians.
- Coordinate maintenance, emergency repairs, and operations of the wastewater pretreatment facility.
- Oversee modifications to design, engineering, and operations of chemical/mechanical processes.
- Evaluate plant operations and maintenance, recommend redesigns and facility improvements, and write technical specifications, policies, and SOPs.
- Lead projects such as facility upgrades, equipment replacements, and overhauls.
- Manage and analyze design and engineering specifications, project submittals, pricing requisitions, purchase orders, customer/vendor invoices, and contract modifications.
- Oversee subcontractor construction/installation crews for mechanical systems replacements and modifications.
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems within the plant.
- Serve as a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team (HMRT), directing containment and cleanup of spills.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering; degrees in applied sciences (e.g., chemistry, environmental technology) considered with exceptional experience.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in operations, maintenance, or project management in a chemical production or wastewater treatment environment.
- Ability to obtain US Government Public Trust security clearance.
- Proven experience managing wastewater pretreatment facility operations and overseeing project administration.
- Knowledge of mechanical system design, engineering, and process controls.
- Experience with PLCs and HMI in plant operations is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively communicate across various operational areas.
- Self-motivated, customer-focused, and committed to achieving goals and plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce.
