Location: Addison, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Work Arrangement: Hybrid | 2–3 Days Onsite per Week
Office Location: Addison, TX
Compensation: $75,000–$90,000 annually
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a direct-hire opportunity in Addison, TX. This hybrid position will play a key role in financial reporting, accounting operations, technical accounting research, and M&A-related activities within a fast-paced private company environment.
The Senior Accountant will lead key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while supporting financial statement preparation, complex accounting matters, audits, and special projects. Because this position will work across technical accounting, accounting research, and M&A initiatives, strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is required.
The ideal candidate brings 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to independently manage complex accounting responsibilities. Public accounting experience and CPA or CPA eligibility are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and related accounting documentation.

Support the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and financial reporting deliverables.

Perform detailed variance and flux analysis and provide clear explanations of significant changes and business performance.

Research and document complex or non-routine accounting matters in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Assist with the preparation of technical accounting memos and supporting documentation.

Support accounting and financial reporting activities associated with mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Assist with various accounting research, financial reporting, and ad hoc projects.

Support the annual financial statement audit and prepare requested schedules and documentation.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data across accounting and reporting systems.

Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.

Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, improve efficiency, and enhance accounting procedures.

Maintain accurate supporting documentation and ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.

Communicate technical accounting concepts and findings clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting principles, and financial reporting.

Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical accounting concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications

Public accounting experience strongly preferred.

CPA designation or CPA eligibility preferred.

Experience with Sage Intacct or a similar ERP/accounting system.

Experience with technical accounting research and preparation of accounting memos.

Exposure to M&A accounting, transaction-related projects, or other complex accounting matters.

Experience working within a fast-paced private company or corporate accounting environment.
