Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in accounting, is highly proficient in Excel, and ideally has experience with JDE Edwards. This role begins fully onsite for training, then transitions to a hybrid schedule.

- First 2 weeks: Onsite Monday–Friday
- After training: Hybrid – In-office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; remote Monday and Friday
About the Role
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in accounting, is highly proficient in Excel, and ideally has experience with JDE Edwards. This role begins fully onsite for training, then transitions to a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end close activities including journal entry preparation and cost center analysis
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations
- Prepare and reconcile cash entries, investigate variances, and coordinate with departments for clarification
- Contribute to process improvement projects and participate in cross-training with accounting staff
- Assist with monthly bank reporting, including liquidity and covenant calculations
- Provide support for Financial Reporting, Tax, and External Audits through accurate and timely account schedules
- Serve as backup for ASC 842 lease transactions
- Propose and document accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with FP&A, Business Services, Regional Controllers, and other finance teams
- Handle ad hoc accounting tasks and new accounting pronouncement implementations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–5 years of professional accounting experience
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
- Experience with ERP systems (J.D. Edwards strongly preferred)
- Fixed asset experience a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-accounting stakeholders
