Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced, results-driven Sales Manager to lead and expand our Business Development team in Plano, TX.

This is a player-coach role designed for a proven staffing sales professional who can both produce individually and lead a team. The Sales Manager will maintain personal business development responsibilities while managing, coaching, and developing our Business Development Managers (BDMs).

The ideal candidate is a true hunter and sales leader who knows how to build a pipeline, open new accounts, close business, and create accountability across a sales team. This individual will play a key role in developing our BDMs, recruiting and growing the sales team, establishing consistent sales processes, and helping Wheeler Staffing Partners expand its client base and revenue.
Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and manage Wheeler Staffing Partners' team of Business Development Managers.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold BDMs accountable to individual and team sales goals.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, pipeline reviews, sales meetings, and performance coaching.
  • Monitor sales activity, pipeline development, client meetings, proposals, contracts, new accounts, and revenue performance.
  • Coach BDMs on prospecting, cold outreach, networking, discovery meetings, presentations, negotiation, objection handling, and closing.
  • Help team members develop stronger sales strategies and identify opportunities within their territories and target accounts.
  • Create a culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, and consistent sales activity.
  • Identify performance gaps and develop actionable coaching plans to improve results.
  • Partner with company leadership to establish sales goals, strategies, territories, and market priorities.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new BDMs as the sales organization grows.
  • Develop and improve sales processes, tools, reporting, and best practices that can scale as the team expands.
  • Help build a high-performing sales organization capable of consistently generating new clients and revenue.
Business Development & Revenue Generation
  • Maintain an individual book of business and actively contribute to company revenue goals.
  • Proactively identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities across multiple industries.
  • Develop and execute prospecting and outreach strategies to generate meetings and build a strong sales pipeline.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and discovery through proposal, negotiation, contract execution, and account launch.
  • Conduct client meetings to understand workforce challenges and recommend appropriate staffing and recruiting solutions.
  • Sell Wheeler Staffing Partners' service offerings, including Contract Staffing, Contract-to-Hire, Direct Hire, Executive Search, RPO, and EOR solutions.
  • Attend networking events, industry events, trade shows, client meetings, and other business-development opportunities throughout the market.
  • Develop strong relationships with decision-makers and become a trusted staffing partner to clients.
  • Expand existing accounts by identifying additional departments, locations, hiring needs, and service opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and clients throughout the sales process.
  • Partner closely with recruiting leadership and recruiting teams to ensure successful delivery against client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, client information, and opportunities within the company's CRM.
  • Represent Wheeler Staffing Partners professionally and enthusiastically in all client and community interactions.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of business development, staffing sales, or related B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Previous staffing and recruiting industry sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, or managing sales professionals preferred.
  • Proven track record of generating new business and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a sales pipeline from the ground up and convert prospects into long-term clients.
  • Strong understanding of the staffing sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, pricing, proposals, contracts, and account development.
  • Ability to be both a hands-on individual producer and effective sales leader.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, develop, and hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Strong networking ability and a willingness to be active in the local business community.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, sales technology, LinkedIn, and other prospecting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate sales activity, pipeline, conversion rates, and performance metrics.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage personal sales responsibilities while leading a growing team.
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and results-oriented with a strong hunter mentality.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with in-office collaboration and local client travel.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for more than someone who can manage a sales team. We want a sales leader who still loves to sell.

The right person will be comfortable getting into the trenches with the team—prospecting, attending meetings, helping close opportunities, and demonstrating the behaviors expected from our BDMs.

At the same time, this individual must be able to transition from producer to coach: reviewing pipelines, identifying where deals are getting stuck, developing BDMs, creating accountability, and helping each team member become more successful.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can help us build for the future. As Wheeler Staffing Partners continues to grow, this person will have an opportunity to help shape the structure, processes, culture, and talent of our sales organization.
