Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Oncology) in Harlingen, TX. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality oncology care in an acute care setting while working alongside a compassionate and collaborative healthcare team.

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective nursing care to oncology patients.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care on a per-shift and unit level basis.

  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to support staff as appropriate.

  • Maintain accountability for ensuring quality and safe nursing care.

  • Administer chemotherapy and other medications accurately and in compliance with hospital policies.

  • Adhere to infection control, risk management, and quality improvement standards.

  • Support hospital emergency preparedness by performing assigned HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) duties during emergencies or disasters.

  • Demonstrate commitment to professional and organizational standards, goals, and objectives.
Qualifications
Education

  • Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN).

Experience

  • Preferred: Recent acute care and oncology nursing experience.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Required: Active and unrestricted RN license in the State of Texas.

  • Required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — must be obtained at hire or within 5 working days prior to assuming patient care responsibilities.

  • Preferred: Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN).

  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment and corporate policy.
