Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialization in behavioral/mental health to join our healthcare team in Redding, CA. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care, focusing on the needs of geriatric patients within the behavioral health sector. Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care with a focus on behavioral/mental health.
- Engage in both direct and indirect nursing activities aimed at meeting the needs of geriatric patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and the behavioral health (BH) treatment team to implement effective care plans.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify health care needs and preferences.
- Develop, evaluate, and modify patient care plans as necessary, ensuring the delivery of personalized and effective care.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and comprehensively, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in Nursing, or a Diploma Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- A minimum of two years of psychiatric experience in an inpatient setting for ADN holders, and one year of experience for BSN holders.
- At least one year of experience in a medical/surgical setting within a hospital is strongly preferred; home care experience is not mandatory.
- Valid RN license and current registration to practice as a registered professional nurse in California.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle that is insured according to state and/or organizational requirements.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric nursing, particularly with geriatric patients.
- Strong assessment and care planning skills, with the ability to adapt to changing patient needs.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work efficiently with a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to the highest standards of nursing practice.
