Location: Rochester, NY (100% Onsite – Hospital Project)
Compensation:
  • Project Manager: $100,000 – $129,000
  • Senior Project Manager: $130,000 – $150,000
Additional Compensation:
  • Discretionary annual bonus

Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Onsite
Travel: No overnight travel required
Relocation: Open to regional candidates (local preferred)

Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale healthcare construction projects in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, including financial performance, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and quality execution.
The ideal candidate brings 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical or plumbing construction, strong MEP project leadership, and a proven ability to manage $5M+ healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage execution of construction projects in accordance with contract documents and company standards
  • Maintain a safe jobsite through safety planning, JHA reviews, toolbox talks, and site walks
  • Support Project Executive and Superintendent in subcontractor and vendor coordination
  • Manage financial performance including budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting
  • Oversee contract delivery methods (GMP, Lump Sum, Concession Agreements)
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements including bonds, insurance, reporting, and schedules
  • Manage Procore setup for document control, RFIs, submittals, and change management
  • Negotiate and issue vendor purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Participate in project handoff meetings and establish client expectations
  • Collaborate with Superintendent on site logistics, safety planning, and site utilization
  • Maintain and update project schedules with focus on energy savings milestones
  • Prepare monthly project reports and cost reviews
  • Develop and manage Schedule of Values for client billing
  • Lead implementation of the Project Quality Assurance Plan
  • Manage change orders, RFIs, and contract modifications
  • Lead project meetings and document outcomes with agendas and meeting minutes
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Support and mentor Assistant Project Managers
  • Participate in industry and community engagement activities as needed


Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of experience as a Project Manager for a mechanical or plumbing subcontractor
  • Proven experience managing $5M+ healthcare construction projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and healthcare construction environments
  • Proficiency with Procore, project controls, and scheduling software
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to lead teams and manage complex project workflows
