Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 + 4% Bonus
Schedule: Monday–Friday (must be flexible to support both 1st & 2nd shifts; occasional Saturday)

Production Manager – Packaging & Printing (Onsite)

1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Mon–Thu)

2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM (Mon–Thu)
Reports To: Plant Manager
Reports: Approximately 15–50 employees
Language: English required; bilingual Spanish is a plus
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to join our client’s growing operations in the packaging and printing industry. This leader will oversee employees and press operations for both 1st and 2nd shifts, help bring structure to a high-performing yet evolving team, and drive improvements in output, quality, and morale. This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked in narrow web, flexographic press operations, and thrives in a fast-paced print production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead production teams across 1st and 2nd shifts (approx. 15 direct reports), ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery

Supervise setup and operation of flexo/narrow web printing presses, including troubleshooting equipment
-
Monitor and verify color matches, substrates, plates, and materials for accuracy before production
-
Coordinate daily production schedules and staffing, and enforce lean manufacturing processes
-
Maintain production records and ensure high housekeeping standards

Mentor and train operators, helping build trust, accountability, and alignment with plant goals

Provide leadership for continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and quality assurance

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies

Work closely with the Plant Manager, leads, and supervisors to ensure smooth shift transitions and communication
-
Associate’s degree or technical school certificate preferred, or equivalent experience
-
5+ years of experience in print production, flexographic/narrow web preferred
-
2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
-
Hands-on experience with equipment such as Arpeco, Roto, Mark Andy, Nilpeter, Webtron, etc.
-
Familiarity with shrink sleeve production and label substrates is highly desirable
-
Must be able to read and interpret production specs, color standards, and safety protocols
-
Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods of time
-
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
-
Must speak English fluently; Spanish language skills are a plus
