Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Product Engineer, HVAC with an industrial manufacturing client in Milwaukee, WI. As a Product Engineer you will represent the company with customers and suppliers, effectively communicate technical specifications, and provide technical direction and support to various internal departments. Product Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Represents the Company with customers and suppliers.
- Communicates technical and/or design and performance specifications to customers, representatives, and internal departments.
- Function as the focal point for technical/operating requirements on assigned product lines, including safety and availability requirements.
- Determines specifications for replacement or alternate products for assigned product lines.
- Acts as the product expert for assigned product lines.
- Works with Technical staff, Application Engineers and Inside Sales Specialists to identify and procure replacement parts to meet customer needs.
- Provides technical direction and support to peer staff in the sourcing of replacement parts in your assigned product and or functional area.
- Support department sales budget with focus on assigned product and or functional area to achieve Target. Work with Management to develop appropriate sales and market strategies.
- Accept and process order requests from targeted customer base.
- Perform required research to support customer Request for Quote (RFQ) and general information solicitation. Use existing technical drawings/diagrams/personnel/ resources to research quotes and ensure that orders conform to equipment specifications. Perform Quote and after order follow up, to facilitate ongoing positive field response.
- Perform commission evaluation and submission as may be required and investigate applicable customer invoice disputes as may be appropriate, per the sales policy.
- Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company, is required. Work directly with customers and staff to resolve internal and external issues quickly.
- Work with management to determine / solicit representative feedback related to target and sales program performance / enhancements.
- Solicit representative input for new products as well as collecting feedback for increasing sales related to existing offerings.
- Assist in Representative Evaluations and promote growth initiatives.
- Perform representative and staff training as required.
- Must be self-motivated to possess high product competency across all assigned Product Groups.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum three years general HVAC commodity and peripheral OEM applications experience.
