Process Control Engineer
Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Process Control Engineer with a client in Forney, TX.
The client is a leading provider in the paper packaging industry, specializing in manufacturing, distributing, and marketing a wide range of paper-based packaging products, including corrugated containers and container boards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain control systems, including sensors, controllers, PLCs, DCSs, and process actuators on a world-class 2-ply recycled linerboard machine.
- Provide process control support to all areas of the mill.
- Troubleshoot existing systems, including Honeywell Experion, GE Fanuc, AB PLC 5, and SLC 500.
- Maintain and upgrade controls network, providing periodic reports indicating the network's health.
- Upgrade existing systems when opportunities arise.
- Design and implement new control strategies to increase productivity and quality.
- Manage process control work as part of a capital project team.
- Develop interfaces between process control systems and mill information systems.
- Work well in high-pressure situations, troubleshooting system problems that interrupt production.
- Collaborate in project management to complete projects on time, on budget, and with outstanding results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining control systems.
- Strong experience with Honeywell Experion, GE Fanuc, AB PLC 5, and SLC 500.
- Demonstrated ability to tune control loops.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to work proactively and lead in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in capital project management.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industry best practices.
- Willingness to stay current with industry trends and technologies.
