Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Home Health
Location: Mechanicsville, VA
Coverage Area: Mechanicsville, Hanover, Richmond, Henrico, Quinton, Goochland, Aylett
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Environment: Onsite, Home Health
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation
Estimated Annual Salary: $67,000 – $82,000
Pay Model: Pay-Per-Point (estimated annual earnings based on full-time productivity)
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support home health patients in the Mechanicsville, VA area. This role focuses on delivering patient-centered care in the home setting while working under the direction of a Physical Therapist to support rehabilitation, mobility, and overall patient wellness.
The PTA will play a key role in implementing care plans, monitoring patient progress, and educating patients and families to promote independence and safety.
Key Responsibilities

Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist in a home health setting

Monitor patient progress and report changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist and physician

Assist patients with exercises and therapeutic activities to improve mobility and function

Educate patients and caregivers on home safety, fall prevention, and proper use of medical equipment

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient visits and progress

Travel within the assigned coverage area to deliver care
Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently in a home-based environment

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
Education
-
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
Licensure & Certifications
-
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Virginia (or ability to obtain)

Current CPR certification

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
