Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring Patient Access Representatives for a respected healthcare facility in Hilton Head, SC. This is a great opportunity to begin or grow your career in a patient-facing healthcare support role. These positions are onsite with two available shifts. Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, is required.

Schedule Options
- Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-  Please indicate your shift preference (Day or Night) when applying.
-  Candidates must be flexible regarding the days of the week they work (e.g., Sunday–Tuesday, Wednesday–Saturday).

Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with standards
- Perform scheduling, registration, pre-admission, admission, and discharge functions
- Collect and verify accurate patient demographic and insurance information
- Explain and secure hospital and patient legal documentation
- Educate patients on financial responsibilities and collect payments using compliant methods
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations
- May assist with post-discharge care coordination and scheduling of diagnostic services
- Maintain adherence to hospital procedures and privacy guidelines

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0–1 year of experience in a customer service or healthcare administrative role
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM) and PC proficiency
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Familiarity with third-party payer and compliance standards is a plus
- Must be able to perform duties in at least two patient access service areas, including Emergency Department

Health & Background Screening Requirements
This position requires successful completion of:
- Drug screening (9 or 12 panel)
- Background check (including 7-year county and statewide, SSN trace, and sex offender registry)
- Employment and education verification
- OIG and GSA health sanctions checks
- Required immunizations and health screenings, including:
- Hepatitis B
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Tdap
- TB test (PPD or T-Spot)
- Influenza (required during flu season)
COVID-19 vaccination is encouraged but not required.

Additional Details
- This is a 100% onsite position at Hilton Head Medical Center
- Direct contact with patients is required
- Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, and sitting, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
