Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client's PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) team in Worcester, MA. This hospital is recognized for its cutting-edge facilities and exceptional patient care standards. As a PACU RN, you will deliver direct clinical care, manage patient recovery post-surgery, and ensure optimal patient outcomes while providing leadership and support to clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality direct clinical care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
- Assume accountability for developing and implementing individualized patient care plans.
- Supervise and mentor delegated clinical staff to maintain competency and high-quality standards of care.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe nursing practices.
- Uphold best practices in patient care management and advocate for professional nursing standards across the unit.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN).
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current and active RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Required: Minimum of one year of critical care nursing experience in an ICU or Emergency Room (ER) setting.
- PACU or perioperative nursing experience is strongly preferred.
Schedule and Additional Details
- On-call requirements: Every other weekend and alternating holidays.
- Interview process: Phone or on-site interviews during business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Free employee parking available.
- Pre-employment requirements: Background check, drug screening, and health screening.
- Compliance with all applicable vaccination mandates is required (proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption with regular testing).
