Nursing Manager - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Position Type: Full-Time (FT)
Location: Rock Hill, SC
Shift: Monday – Friday
Compensation: $40 - $50/hr (Depending on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
Differential Pay: Available
On-Call Requirement: Yes
Position Overview:
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an accomplished Nursing Manager for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership and collaborate closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure high standards in patient care and nursing practices. This role is essential for maintaining operational excellence, ensuring staff competency, and overseeing efficient resource management within the PACU. The Nursing Manager will carry 24/7 responsibility for the assigned unit and serve as an advocate and role model for nursing excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise PACU nursing staff to uphold and deliver superior patient care, maintaining adherence to safety and quality protocols.
- Collaborate with the CNO and senior leadership to plan, implement, and assess nursing practices, promoting effective processes and patient outcomes.
- Oversee staff development and foster an environment that encourages professional learning and continuous improvement.
- Manage resources effectively to ensure optimal patient care, including staffing and supply allocation.
- Play an active role in the hiring, orientation, training, and performance evaluation of PACU personnel.
- Monitor patient care issues and concerns, ensuring a patient-centered approach is consistently applied.
- Uphold compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Act as a clinical leader and resource, exemplifying best practices in nursing and fostering a culture of professional growth.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and staff, promoting a collaborative and respectful work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Required: Academic degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Licensure & Certification:
- Active and current RN license in the state of residence/practice (SC).
- CPR certification required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting, with roles such as Manager or full-time Charge Nurse in a PACU, outpatient surgery, or similar unit.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership capabilities with proven ability to motivate and guide nursing teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Expertise in hospital operations and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.
