Location: Rock Hill, SC
Salary: $100,000 - $160,000 (DOE)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, On-Call 24/7
Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Emergency Department (ED) at our Rock Hill, SC hospital. This role is integral to ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the ED, encompassing patient care delivery, staffing, quality assurance, and budgeting. The DON will work collaboratively with medical staff and hospital leadership to align departmental initiatives with the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
This leadership role oversees a dedicated team, including the ED nurse manager, clinical supervisors, registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), ED techs, and behavioral health techs. The ideal candidate will champion strategic initiatives to enhance departmental throughput, improve patient outcomes, and ensure the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clinical leadership to the ED, ensuring alignment with hospital policies and industry standards.
- Oversee departmental operations, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation, to optimize efficiency and patient flow.
- Lead quality initiatives to meet regulatory compliance standards and achieve superior patient outcomes.
- Foster collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based practices and enhance care delivery.
- Drive professional development initiatives, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and improvement among ED staff.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet community needs, expanding services and programs as required.
- Act as a primary liaison between nursing staff, medical staff, and hospital administration, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) within 5 years of employment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of leadership experience as a Director or Manager in a Level 3 ED Trauma Center.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Multi-State RN License from the state of residence.
- Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
- Completion of relevant ED certifications within the orientation period.
Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in ED operations, including staffing, patient flow, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Proven leadership ability to stabilize and guide teams during organizational transitions.
- Strong organizational, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
