Job Title: Medical Assistant
Employment Type: Part-Time
Location: Charlottesville, VA
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 7:45 AM – 2:00 PM

Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a skilled and personable Certified Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to support clinical and lab operations in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is a hands-on role responsible for patient care, lab processing, and assisting providers in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate is team-oriented, detail-driven, and confident working directly with patients while managing both clinical and laboratory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Patient Care
  • Perform phlebotomy (blood draws) with accuracy and patient care focus
  • Administer injections (including vitamins and other prescribed treatments)
  • Check patient vitals and accurately document in EMR systems
  • Assist providers with patient care and clinical procedures
  • Greet and prepare patients for appointments

Lab Operations
  • Process lab specimens, including spinning blood and preparing samples
  • Perform onsite lab testing and assist with reporting results (e.g., PSA, testosterone levels)
  • Maintain accurate lab logs and assist with test studies
  • Collaborate with lab consultants to ensure proper procedures and compliance

Administrative & Support
  • Ensure all lab results are accurately entered into patient charts
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HIPAA protocols
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and general front office support
  • Support overall clinic workflow and complete additional tasks as needed

Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (required)
  • Experience with phlebotomy and lab processing (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with EMR systems (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience taking vital signs (preferred)
  • Experience in clinical settings such as medspa, urology, family practice, endocrinology, or general practice (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented with a patient-first mindset
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask

Certifications & Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistant (required)
  • BLS Certification (preferred)
  • Ability to work onsite in Charlottesville, VA
  • No current or pending malpractice issues
