Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused MRI Technologist to join a highly respected healthcare facility in Detroit, MI. Recognized for clinical excellence and advanced diagnostic capabilities, this hospital offers a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging scans to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
- Review patient history, assess risk factors, and screen for contraindications such as pacemakers, metal implants, and claustrophobia.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, ensuring understanding, comfort, and safety.
- Properly position patients and select appropriate coils and imaging parameters to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Monitor patient responses during scans and recognize signs of distress or adverse reactions to contrast agents.
- Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records per hospital and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with radiologists to deliver timely and accurate diagnostic information.
- Provide support and guidance to students or new technologists as needed.
- Participate in department quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- Be available for on-call rotation including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Certification:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI or Radiography (R) with advanced MRI certification.
- Or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Current certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or obtained during orientation.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of MRI experience preferred. Strong new graduates with MRI training will be considered.
- Skills:
- Excellent patient care, communication, and technical imaging skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-acuity setting.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background check
- Drug screening
- Compliance with facility immunization and health requirements
