Location: Boca Raton, FL
Schedule: Day Shift
Salary Range: $94,000 – $140,000 (based on experience)
Position Summary
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Lab Director to lead laboratory operations within an acute care hospital setting in Boca Raton, FL. This role is responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating all laboratory functions to ensure high-quality, accurate, timely, and cost-effective diagnostic services.
The Lab Director ensures compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements and provides leadership across administrative, fiscal, and technical operations. This position encompasses all responsibilities of a Laboratory Supervisor under Florida regulations.

This role is responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating all laboratory functions to ensure high-quality, accurate, timely, and cost-effective diagnostic services.
The Lab Director ensures compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements and provides leadership across administrative, fiscal, and technical operations. This position encompasses all responsibilities of a Laboratory Supervisor under Florida regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership for all laboratory departments

Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies, accreditation standards, and Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel requirements

Oversee quality assurance, quality control, and performance improvement initiatives

Direct administrative, fiscal, and technical laboratory activities

Develop and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation

Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient reporting of laboratory results

Lead, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff and supervisors

Maintain adherence to established policies, procedures, and scope of practice regulations

Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence

Foster a collaborative and high-performance laboratory environment
Minimum Education Requirements
Must meet one of the following:
-
Education and/or work experience recognized by the State of Florida to qualify as a Clinical Laboratory Director or Supervisor
Preferred:

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology
Required Experience
-
Minimum five (5) years of supervisory or management experience
-
Experience must be within an acute care hospital laboratory setting
Required Licensure & Certifications
-
Current or eligible Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license

Must be qualified in at least three (3) of the following laboratory areas:

Microbiology
-
Serology
-
Clinical Chemistry
-
Hematology
-
Immunohematology (Blood Bank)

Preferred:
-
ASCP national certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS)
