Instructional Designer III

Employment Type: 6 month Contract

Location: Remote
Pay: $42.00/hour 
 

Position Overview:
The Instructional Designer III leads and executes the design, development, and evaluation of complex training curricula, materials, and programs to meet strategic organizational initiatives. This role manages relationships with business partners and clients and may mentor peers. It involves monitoring emerging training and development trends and evaluating programs to ensure ROI.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute the design and development of complex training programs (instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended) to meet strategic organizational goals.
  • Design new and evaluate existing training curricula, applying proven instructional design principles.
  • Establish training standards ensuring alignment with learning and development guidelines.
  • Manage relationships with business partners, consulting to perform training needs analysis and identify performance gaps.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong project planning and stakeholder management skills.
  • Mentor peers when necessary.
  • Prepare training plans and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
  • Recommend delivery methods (e-learning, instructor-led, etc.) based on business and audience needs.
  • Monitor emerging training technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
  • Develop learning assessments, analyze results, and determine program ROI.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Training & Development, HRD, Organizational Psychology, English) or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years of instructional design experience.
  • Proficiency in e-learning tools (Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and instructor-led training design (virtual and in-class).
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, training theories, and instructional design practices.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including influencing and persuading others.
  • Ability to mentor peers and recommend/measure learning solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom applications.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and general business knowledge.

If working remotely, the candidate must be equipped with high-speed internet, a reliable cell phone, and a conducive workspace.

Additional Information:
  • Candidates must provide sample e-learnings or an instructional design portfolio.
  • Strong technical writing skills are essential.
