Infection Prevention Quality Manager
Location: Indio, CA
Pay Range: $97,760 – $151,840 (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time Mon – Fri | Onsite
Reports To: Director of Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI)

With a full range of services—including emergency care, orthopedics, cardiovascular care, women’s health, surgery, and rehabilitation—this hospital is seeking a leader to help elevate clinical quality and infection prevention standards across the organization.

Position Overview
The Quality Management Manager serves in a dual capacity:
  1. Project Manager for assigned clinical quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  2. Infection Prevention Lead, responsible for coordinating and enforcing the hospital’s Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Program.
This leadership role supports the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement and collaborates across departments to improve patient outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety. The role also provides coverage for the Quality Department as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Quality Programs
  • Direct clinical quality projects and performance improvement efforts.
  • Support department leaders with data-driven strategies and compliance consulting.
  • Monitor and report program effectiveness and patient care outcomes.
Infection Prevention & Control
  • Implement, enforce, and monitor IPC protocols and surveillance activities.
  • Analyze infection trends using epidemiologic tools and risk stratification.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Health to reduce staff transmission risks.
Education & Consultation
  • Educate healthcare providers, support staff, patients, and families on quality and infection prevention.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on infection control and performance improvement.
Program Evaluation & Patient Safety
  • Systematically evaluate the effectiveness of IPC and clinical quality initiatives.
  • Drive patient safety initiatives in alignment with hospital goals.
  • Participate in research, including outbreak investigations and evidence-based reviews.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or a related healthcare field
  • National Certification in Infection Control (CIC) — or eligibility to obtain within one year of hire
  • 3+ years of healthcare experience (with at least 2 years in an acute care setting)
  • 1+ year of experience in epidemiology
  • 2+ years in quality improvement or performance management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience (including 2+ years in acute care)
  • 2+ years of focused epidemiology work
  • Background in statistics or clinical data analysis
