Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Salary: $100,000 – $135,000
Location: Tempe, AZ
Schedule: Onsite with Travel (25%–40%)

Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Commissioning Provider III in Tempe, AZ. This role provides leadership across multiple construction projects, managing a team of Commissioning Agents and Technicians to ensure the successful execution of commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, project management, and client communication.

This position requires frequent collaboration with owners, contractors, engineers, and architects to ensure that all commissioning deliverables meet client expectations and project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commissioning projects, including client relationships, team coordination, scheduling, and budget oversight.

  • Lead project execution from planning through construction completion.

  • Meet with clients, architects, and engineers to define project scope, budgets, and schedules.

  • Track and report project progress to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

  • Serve as a liaison between clients and internal teams to address project changes, challenges, or updates.

  • Mentor and train Commissioning Agents and Technicians on commissioning processes and best practices.

  • Participate in on-site commissioning activities alongside field team members.

  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure effective use of project resources and personnel.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all communications and project records.

  • Support the development and refinement of commissioning standards and internal processes.

  • Participate in business development initiatives and client presentations.

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all commissioning efforts.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commissioning, building systems, or related fields.

  • At least 5 years of project management experience in engineering, construction, facilities management, or energy.

  • Strong background in HVAC, MEP systems, controls, and building operations.

  • Active Commissioning Certification (ACG, BCxA, or ASHRAE).

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based commissioning software platforms.

  • Ability to travel 25–40% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Engineering Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

  • In-depth knowledge of industry competitors and commissioning best practices.

Work Environment

  • 25–40% travel to client sites and office locations.

  • Exposure to noise, outdoor elements, and variable site conditions.

  • Physical activity including climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and operating equipment.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and manual dexterity required for fieldwork.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary ($100,000–$135,000).
