Hospice Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Norwood, MA (Serving Multiple Territories in the Greater Boston Area)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Branch Office: Norwood, MA

Coverage Territories

  • 2 Openings: Greater Boston Area

  • 1 Opening: South Shore

  • 2 Openings: Dorchester & Surrounding Areas

  • 1 Opening: Jamaica Plain & Surrounding Areas

Compensation

  • Salary: $80,000 – $104,000 (flexible depending on experience)

  • Potential sign-on bonus (to be discussed with the hiring recruiter)


Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking Hospice Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care across multiple territories in the Greater Boston region. This is a weekday role with the potential to provide backup on-call support. RNs will complete nursing assessments, develop care plans, coordinate services, and support patients and families throughout their hospice journey.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.

  • Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) to address physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of care.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of visits, interventions, and patient condition updates.

  • Coordinate care activities including scheduling, medication management, communication with physicians, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Provide education, emotional support, and guidance to patients and caregivers.

  • Respond to urgent patient needs during on-call or backup assignments when required.

  • Supervise LPNs, LVNs, and Hospice Aides; participate in IDG meetings, patient conferences, and ongoing clinical training.

  • Support pre-hospice evaluations via phone, telehealth, or in-person visits to determine patient needs and recommended services.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, clinical, and organizational standards.


Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (required)

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) preferred

  • CPR certification recommended

Experience

  • Nursing experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Hospice

  • Home Health

  • Medical-Surgical

  • Population-specific care (Geriatrics or Pediatrics)

  • Experience with EMR systems preferred (such as Homecare Homebase, Epic, or similar)

    Skills & Requirements

    • Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across an interdisciplinary team

    • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and state-required liability auto insurance

    • Proficiency with computers and EMR documentation
