Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist (Medical Technologist)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: Port Saint Lucie, FL (New hospital facility)
Shift: Full Time, Nights (5x8-hour shifts)
Compensation: $29.71 – $43.00 per hour (Based on experience)
About the Role
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (Medical Technologist) to join a newly opened acute care hospital in Port Saint Lucie, FL. This role is responsible for performing complex laboratory testing to deliver timely, accurate results that directly support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform laboratory testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.

Accurately document, analyze, and report test results.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Participate in continuing education and professional development.
Required Qualifications
Education (one of the following):
-
Bachelor’s Degree from an approved college/university.

Graduate of an accredited school of medical technology.
-
Equivalent training, such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489.
-
Qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on an HHS examination or equivalent prior to 2/28/92 (42 CFR 493.1491).
Experience:
-
Minimum 2 years as a Medical Technologist in an acute care facility, OR
-
1 year as a Medical Technologist in an acute care facility with a Master’s degree.
Licensure:
-
Current Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (must be verifiable through the Florida Department of Health license lookup portal).

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Knowledge of laboratory safety and compliance standards.
