Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Detroit, MI or Clinton Township, MI
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (Days or Nights)
Compensation: $27 – $39 per hour (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Available
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) to join a dynamic healthcare team. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory care services across the continuum of care, supporting patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
The ideal candidate is clinically strong, team-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
- Perform therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures, as well as diagnostic testing for cardiopulmonary conditions
- Conduct patient assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory treatments
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and medical gases as prescribed
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including blood gas analyzers
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
- Educate patients on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and disease management
- Participate in patient care rounds and coordinate with respiratory leadership as needed
- Support patient transport and ensure continuity of respiratory care
- Train and mentor staff and students; may serve as preceptor or lead therapist
Qualifications
- CRT or RRT credential required (NBRC preferred)
- Completion of an AMA/CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program
Education Requirements (one of the following):
- Associate’s degree in Science or related field
- Completion of an approved Respiratory Care program
- High school diploma/GED with 10+ years of on-the-job respiratory therapy experience
- Strong clinical, analytical, and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Certifications & Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Must obtain Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Michigan within required timeframe
- Ability to meet on-call requirements
- Must pass background check and drug screening
