Occupational Therapist (OT) – Full-Time

Location: Detroit, MI
Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 annually (DOE)
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000–$15,000 for full-time roles
Shifts: Day Shift
Specialties Accepted: Neurorehabilitation, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Inpatient, Pediatrics, and related areas
New Grads: Welcome; education bonuses available


Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time opportunity in Detroit, Michigan. This role supports inpatient and specialty rehabilitation services, providing high-quality therapeutic interventions to help patients regain independence, enhance mobility, and improve daily functioning. Candidates with experience in neurorehabilitation, orthopedic care, pediatrics, or other rehab specialties are strongly encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of motor, neurological, cognitive, and functional abilities.

  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.

  • Deliver therapeutic interventions to enhance motor skills, sensory integration, cognitive abilities, and interpersonal functioning.

  • Collaborate with physicians to establish therapy goals aligned with patient diagnoses.

  • Provide individual or group therapy using appropriate OT techniques and modalities.

  • Document initial evaluations, daily treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental guidelines.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute to patient care planning.

  • Supervise and provide guidance to occupational therapy assistants, aides, students, and volunteers as assigned.

  • Maintain professional development through workshops, courses, in-services, and continuing education.

  • Support program development and interdisciplinary care initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (required).

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan (required).

  • NBCOT certification or eligibility (required; new grads accepted).

  • One year of clinical experience preferred (not required).
