Ultrasound Technologist – Full-Time
Location: Detroit, MI
Shift(s): Days & Nights Available
Pay Range: $29 – $42/hr (Depending on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $15,000 (Based on Relevant Experience)
On-Call Requirement: Yes

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Ultrasound Technologist to join a highly respected, specialty referral hospital known for clinical excellence and innovative care. With recognized Centers of Excellence in neurosciences, cardiovascular services, bariatric surgery, and more, our facility is committed to delivering the highest standard of patient-centered diagnostic imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Verify patient identity and thoroughly review the medical history to ensure appropriateness of the exam.
- Educate patients on procedures, including potential risks and aftercare instructions.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear and accurate diagnostic images for review and interpretation.
- Communicate findings and observations clearly with the interpreting physician or radiologist.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies during procedures.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, calibration, and readiness for use.
- Document all procedures accurately and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support onboarding and training efforts by mentoring new team members or students when needed.
- Participate in on-call coverage as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or equivalent required.
- Education: Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
- BLS Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required (must be completed by the end of orientation).
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a practicing Ultrasound Technologist preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in abdominal, OB/GYN, and/or vascular ultrasound imaging a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Compliance with facility immunization and health screening standards.
