Location: Garland, TX
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
1st Shift: Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking skilled Electrical Wiring Technicians for contract-to-hire opportunities in Garland, TX. This role is responsible for wiring, assembling, fitting, and mounting electrical components and control equipment, including control panels, switchgear, switchboards, and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).
The ideal candidate has electrical wiring or assembly experience, can read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and is comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and electrical components in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Wire and assemble electrical control panels, switchgear, switchboards, and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturing drawings.

Install and wire electrical components, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Assemble electrical switchboard and control equipment according to engineering specifications.

Complete assembly work using written instructions, drawings, and verbal direction.

Inspect and test completed assemblies for wiring accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.

Identify and troubleshoot basic wiring or assembly issues.

Use electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively.

Complete production assignments accurately while meeting established schedules and quality standards.

Report material shortages, production delays, quality concerns, and other issues to supervisors.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Follow all safety procedures, manufacturing standards, and quality requirements.

Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and customer deadlines.

Work overtime as needed based on production requirements.
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
Previous electrical assembly, electrical wiring, panel wiring, or manufacturing experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturing drawings.

Experience assembling control panels, switchgear, switchboards, or other industrial electrical equipment highly preferred.

Familiarity with PLCs and electrical control systems is a plus.

Experience using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment preferred.

Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to communicate effectively in English to understand safety instructions, work assignments, and job-related communications.

Willingness to work overtime as business needs require.
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks.

Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
-
Manual dexterity required for wiring, terminating, and assembling electrical components.
-
Ability to distinguish between colored wires, labels, and electrical components.
-
Ability to safely operate required hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
-
Must wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Safety Footwear
Candidates must report on their first day wearing approved safety boots. Footwear must:

Have a steel toe or composite toe.
-
Cover the ankle.
-
Have a leather-style upper with a minimum leather upper construction.
Candidates who arrive without the required safety footwear may not be permitted to begin work. Additional required PPE may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other protective equipment based on the work area.
