Director of Telemetry/ICU
Location: Tucson, AZ 85745
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | Director-level (24/7 Departmental Responsibility)
Compensation: $120,000–$156,000 annually + up to 10% AIP Bonus

Position Summary – Director of Telemetry/ICU
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced nursing leader to oversee critical care services including:
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU): 64 beds, 80% average occupancy
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Intermediate/Telemetry Unit
  • Cardiac/Heart Surgery Services
  • Rapid Response Team
  • Code Blue Committee
  • Float Pool
  • (Potential oversight of IV Team)
The Director of Telemetry/ICU holds strategic and operational accountability for these key departments, ensuring high-quality, safe, and evidence-based nursing care. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this role leads change initiatives, optimizes staff performance, and upholds regulatory compliance with a focus on patient and team outcomes.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide direct leadership to 3 nurse managers and a multidisciplinary team of ~120 staff members
  • Drive performance improvement, clinical quality, and patient safety initiatives
  • Develop and manage department budgets and staffing models
  • Lead strategic planning and day-to-day operations for assigned departments
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development
  • Serve as liaison between nursing staff and executive leadership
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, standards, and applicable regulations

Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing + Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field
  • Preferred: Master’s in Nursing (MSN) or a healthcare-related discipline
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership in an acute care setting (e.g., Nurse Manager, Charge RN)
  • Strong foundation in ICU, Telemetry, and Critical Care Services
  • Proven success in change management and staff engagement
Licensure & Certifications:
  • Required: Active RN license (Arizona or Compact state)
  • Required: BLS (Basic Life Support/CPR) certification

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $120,000 – $156,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
  • Annual Incentive Bonus: Up to 10% based on performance metrics
  • Relocation Assistance:
    • Up to $4,000 for relocations within 1,000 miles
    • Up to $8,000 for relocations over 1,000 miles
  • Potential Sign-On Bonus: May be offered (discuss during interview)
