Desktop Technician
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Greater Seattle Area, WA (Onsite, travel to multiple hospitals may be required)
Contract Length: 2 months, with 2-3 openings available
Compensation: $24 - $30/hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Onboarding Requirements: Background check, drug screening, and vaccination verification (vaccinations provided if needed)
Position Summary
We are looking for skilled Desktop Technicians to provide technical support and deployment services for our client in the Seattle area. This role is responsible for IT equipment installations, hardware deployments, and troubleshooting. There is potential for full-time employment or contract extension based on project needs and performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deploy and install new computer hardware, upgrade existing systems, and support equipment moves.
- Conduct physical installation, cabling, data backup, imaging, and configuration of devices.
- Provide both remote and desk-side technical support, ensuring seamless interconnectivity of desktops with networks and applications.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and resolve desktop computer issues to optimize user productivity.
- Independently manage support requests, escalating issues per policies when needed.
- Participate in testing, documentation, and implementation phases of assigned projects.
- Support short-term projects including computer/server moves, computer arm installations, and other hardware setups.
Work Environment
- This role requires work in varied environments, including hospitals, offices, warehouses, and data centers.
- Candidates should be comfortable with physical demands, such as frequently moving equipment up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, working under desks, climbing stairs, and navigating multi-floor environments.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Education: High school diploma required; AA degree in an IT-related field strongly preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of Windows Desktop/Laptop support in a professional enterprise setting.
- Proficient with MS Office and other software applications.
- Familiarity with desktop computers in a Windows OS environment.
- Experience in hospital settings is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as A+, MCP, or MCDST are a plus but not required.
- Experience with large computer moves, server deployments, and equipment on carts or arms is advantageous.
- Superior customer service, interpersonal skills, and the flexibility to commute throughout the Greater Seattle area (nationwide travel availability is a plus).
Shift Information
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday during business hours, though projects may occasionally require work outside these hours, including evenings and weekends based on client needs.
Other Requirements
- Candidates must complete a detailed background check, drug screenings, TB screenings, and adhere to vaccination policies to work within hospital environments.
