Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Payroll Systems Analyst in Frisco, TX. The Payroll Systems Analyst role is an integral team member of the Payroll Systems Support Team, which makes up the IT arm of the payroll department. Payroll Systems Analyst Responsibilities:
- Perform activities to calculate and process the weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll cycles accurately to ensure that employees are paid on-time and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Review payroll data and documents for inefficiencies and errors, verifying whether all amounts and balances are complete and accurate.
- Provide ongoing Payroll-related systems support to employees and Oracle Cloud Payroll users of 200+ facilities that employ over 100,000+ people throughout the organization.
- Communicate effectively with the Facility/Local payroll teams to identify payroll entries to rollback and delete to ensure employee pay is processed correctly.
- Perform weekly data entry maintenance and audit functions released for reasonableness.
- Support the IT department with any system upgrades/migrations by performing user acceptance testing, regression testing and payroll parallels, reviewing design, and operational impacts to ensure viability of new system development and effective deployment of all updates for Oracle Cloud system.
- Responsible for ADP payroll functions.
- Responsible for troubleshooting reported complex system issues and providing resolution to users, including providing after-hours outage and response/troubleshooting, as needed.
- Maintain hands on role to ensure deadlines are met and key deliverables are always accurate.
- Ensure daily payroll operations are compliant with federal/state/local payroll tax statutes, as well as payday laws, and related Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.
- Assist in the training of Payroll users on new system changes/updates.
- Administer policies and procedures ensuring all areas are compliant.
- Exercise a high degree of discretion and independent judgement.
- Develop adhoc financial and operational reporting, as needed.
- Other duties and special projects, as needed.
Payroll Systems Analyst Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Payroll/HR with hands-on HRIS experience, multi-state processing.
- Oracle Cloud experience preferred.
- Experience with Vertex, ADP SmartCompliance and Kronos Time and Attendance preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to employee compensation, payroll and benefits including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Worker’s Compensation Act.
- Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with an aptitude for logical and analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills that include responding to documentation and reporting requests from other areas of the business.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology.
- Action oriented with high initiative and ability to think independently.
- Strong team player that can collaborate and build strong relationships with varying team members and work across multiple functions and disciplines and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel is preferred.
- Able to exercise good judgment and handle sensitive and confidential employee information with care.
