About the Role
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Contracts Manager on behalf of our client in Charlotte, NC and Orlando, FL. The Contracts Manager will support the facilitation and execution of all contracts related to Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) business development. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, this role manages complex energy project and finance transactions from pre-contract negotiation through contract close and post-closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle for complex energy and infrastructure projects, including pre-contract review, closing, and post-closing activities.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to energy, construction, and financing transactions.

  • Collaborate with internal legal, finance, engineering, and business teams to ensure contract requirements are clearly defined and executed.

  • Analyze contract terms and proactively identify and mitigate risks.

  • Track compliance with contractual obligations, deliverables, and milestones.

  • Maintain organized contract documentation and manage contract database systems.

  • Provide guidance on contract interpretation, policy compliance, and best practices.

  • Support process improvements and standardization of contract templates and workflows.

  • Ensure alignment between contract terms and project delivery goals, including energy savings targets.

  • Serve as a key liaison with external partners, subcontractors, and vendors during negotiations.

  • Ensure all change management documentation and processes are properly followed.

  • Support project reporting, billing, and financial forecasting in alignment with contract terms.

  • Maintain high levels of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all contract-related activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing contracts in construction, real estate, energy, or engineering industries.

  • Strong understanding of contract law, terms and conditions, and industry-specific risks.

  • Proven ability to analyze complex documents and identify potential issues and resolutions.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with contract management software or databases preferred.

  • Detail-oriented and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
