Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Consumer Loan Funder with a credit union client in Los Angeles, CA (90025).
Responsibilities:
- Maintains the consumer loan queue as well as personal queue up to date by following up with members at least twice per week.
- Presents and explains Credit Union services and products to members and assists in meeting their financial needs.
- Maintains working knowledge of deposit products, services, and regulations. Performs other member services duties as assigned.
- Responsible for communicating loan decisions (approved loans) to members and have the ability to discuss loan alternatives and rate computations in a clear, concise and courteous manner.
- Reviews purchase orders from dealerships for completeness and accuracy
- Maintains working knowledge of consumer lending products, services, and regulations.
- Calculates and explains debt-to-income ratio, identifies opportunities on the credit report, and communicates terms and conditions for ancillary products (debt protection, GAP, etc.) to meet compliance and accuracy standards.
- Originates and funds consumer loans to include (but not limited to): personal, auto, recreational, overdraft, line of credit, and credit card.
- Performs other lending duties as assigned.
- Process and fund consumer loans that are primarily originated online, by phone, or through CUDL and ensures that policies and procedures are followed.
- Resolves member requests and questions promptly, courteously, and professionally.
- Conducts business development and outbound calling activities as assigned. Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies.
- Actively supports the companys core values, mission and vision statements, and demonstrates commitment to member service and organizational success. Serves as escalation point for member concerns and/or problems.
- Refers any problem or concern to the appropriate individual if unable to resolve.
- Prepares funding documents for all consumer loan products and evaluates vehicle values by obtaining a KBB report.
- Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Perform audits of all assigned loan packets and conduct courtesy call to verify that all required information is complete and correct so that documents processed are in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements and risk to the Financial institution is minimized.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- High school degree or GED required.
- 2+ years of related experience, preferably including time spent in preparatory positions
- Credit union experience required
- Must be willing to work onsite
- Ability to serve as subject matter expert on loan origination and funding functions
- Must be able to perform job functions with/without supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team
- Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy
- Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service
