Certified Surgical Technician (CST) – Multi-Specialty
Location: Delray Beach, FL
Position Type: Full-Time (FT)
Shift Availability: Days
Compensation: $30+/hr (Depending on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus/Relocation: Up to $30,000
Shift Differential: Available
On-Call Requirement: Yes
Position Overview:
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to join a dynamic surgical team in a multi-specialty operating room (OR) setting. The CST is an essential member of the surgical team, responsible for preparing and maintaining a sterile environment and supporting surgical procedures with precision. The CST works collaboratively with RNs and other surgical personnel to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intraoperative Support: Perform scrub duties during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile conditions and ensuring compliance with infection control standards. Prepare the OR with necessary instruments and equipment tailored to multi-specialty surgeries.
- Specialty Expertise: Act as the primary resource for assigned surgical specialties, ensuring that specialty-specific instruments, equipment, and supplies are readily available and organized for efficient surgical support.
- Supply and Equipment Management: Prepare, organize, and manage surgical instruments and supplies for procedures, assist in equipment decontamination, and restock OR rooms post-procedure.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in on-call shifts as assigned to provide critical surgical support across various specialties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a post-high school vocational or specialized training program in surgical technology.
- Experience: Previous operating room experience preferred.
- Certification and Licensure:
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program required.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

- Attention to Detail: Maintain sterile conditions, manage surgical instruments, and prepare equipment with precision.
- Organization and Readiness: Efficiently manage and anticipate surgical supply needs, ensuring readiness for procedures.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Perform effectively in fast-paced environments, adapting to changing surgical requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate effectively with the surgical team, including RNs, surgeons, and anesthesia personnel, to support optimal patient outcomes.
