Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role is responsible for providing specialized, high-acuity care to patients recovering from cardiovascular procedures, open-heart surgeries, and critical cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status.
- Administer medications, IV drips, and vasoactive agents per physician orders.
- Operate and manage advanced life-support equipment, including ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and cardiac surgeons, to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including cardiac arrests, using ACLS protocols.
- Educate patients and families about post-operative care, recovery expectations, and disease management.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Required: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for SC.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or required within a specified timeframe.
- Experience: Minimum of one to two years of ICU experience, CVICU experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CCRN or CSC certification preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced critical care environment.
- Full-time, varied shifts (Days/Nights) with rotating weekends and holidays as needed.
