Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a AutoCAD Designer in Plano, TX. The AutoCAD Designer performs drafting and design work to generate submittal, specification, fabrication, erection, standard and project drawings with distinctive design features, and completes assigned activities under general direction of the Engineering Manager. Contact Rachel Wiseman (rwiseman@wheelersp.com) to learn more about this great opportunity!
Responsibilities:
- The AutoCAD Designer will generate a variety of drawings and performing required calculations while effectively managing design hours and meeting schedules;
- Prepare parts lists and specification sheets;
- Create and maintain electronic bills of material;
- The AutoCAD Designer will generate and support P&ID, layout, skids, fabrication, assembly, BIM, and field erection drawings using Autodesk through entire life cycle, from initial concept to working installation;
- Responding to questions pertaining to designs;
- The AutoCAD Designer will contribute to product improvement and development;
- Performs all work in accordance with established quality (ISO 9001:2015) and safety procedures;
- The AutoCAD Designer will work directly with vendors, internal departments, and clients to develop designs and solve issues;
Requirements:
- Two years from a technical school in drafting and mechanical design, and at least (5) years design experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Competency in Autodesk Plant 3D Design Suite + Revit; Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and other MS Office programs.
- Ability to read and understand specifications, fabrication, erection, and standard
- engineering drawings;
- Knowledge of applicable codes, tables and standard reference books used for
- design to the specific discipline;
- Knowledge of drafting standards for electrical, structural, and mechanical design
