Business Development Representative, Mortgage

Job Title: Business Development Representative – Mortgage Recruiting
Location: Fully Remote (CST or EST Preferred)

Compensation:

Base Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 annually

Position Summary
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Representative (BDR) to support expansion within a growing mortgage platform. This role is responsible for recruiting Loan Officers, producing teams, and branch leadership while developing strategic real estate partnerships that drive new business opportunities.
The BDR will manage the full recruitment and business development lifecycle, including prospecting, outreach, candidate engagement, offer coordination, and onboarding support. This position will collaborate with sales leadership, marketing, operations, and executive leadership to support growth initiatives across local, regional, and national markets.
The ideal candidate has experience in mortgage recruiting, mortgage sales, or loan officer business development, along with a strong understanding of mortgage products, compensation structures, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Officer & Branch Recruitment

Recruit Loan Officers, producing teams, and branch managers across local, regional, and national markets

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle including prospecting, outreach, interviews, offer coordination, and onboarding support

Identify and engage high-producing mortgage professionals through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach

Utilize internal databases, referrals, LinkedIn, and external recruiting platforms to develop a strong talent pipeline

Present the organization’s mortgage platform, compensation structure, operational support, and growth opportunities to prospective candidates
Real Estate Partnership Development

Source and develop strategic real estate partnerships with Realtors, home builders, relocation companies, and other lead sources

Build long-term referral relationships that support Loan Officer production and branch growth

Maintain active engagement with industry partners through networking events, associations, and digital outreach
Market Expansion Strategy

Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify lenders with recruitable talent
-
Support expansion initiatives in targeted markets including Pennsylvania, the Tri-State region, and additional growth territories

Identify opportunities to recruit high-performing Loan Officers, producing teams, and branch leaders
Recruitment Operations & Candidate Experience

Coordinate candidate interviews with sales leadership and executive stakeholders
-
Facilitate the offer process, including explanation of compensation structures and transition expectations

Provide onboarding and transition support for new hires, including licensing transfers, technology setup, and marketing integration

Assist with the first 30 days of onboarding to ensure successful integration of new Loan Officers and teams
Pipeline Management & Reporting

Track recruitment activity and business development efforts within CRM systems and recruiting databases

Maintain consistent prospecting pipelines and report on recruitment progress and partnership development

Utilize recruiting playbooks, outreach scripts, and marketing materials to support consistent messaging
Collaboration with Internal Teams

Sales Leadership: Candidate vetting, recruitment strategy, and final hiring decisions

Marketing: Development of recruitment campaigns, pitch decks, and co-branded marketing materials

Operations: Production capacity planning and onboarding coordination

HR / Onboarding: Licensing transfers, payroll setup, and documentation management

Executive Leadership: Strategic expansion initiatives and final offer approvals
Tools & Technology

CRM platform for recruiting pipeline management

LinkedIn and professional sourcing platforms

Internal recruiting databases and RETR systems
-
Recruitment outreach scripts and messaging frameworks

Marketing presentations, videos, and pitch materials

Alt-JV partnership platform presentations
Required Qualifications
-
Experience in mortgage recruiting, mortgage sales, or loan officer business development
-
Proven ability to recruit or build relationships with Loan Officers, producing teams, or mortgage branch leaders
-
Strong understanding of mortgage products, compensation structures, and regulatory compliance requirements
-
Experience sourcing real estate referral partnerships with Realtors, builders, relocation companies, or similar partners
-
Familiarity with mortgage origination platforms and industry tools

Ability to manage multiple recruitment pipelines and business development initiatives simultaneously
