Work Arrangement: 100% Remote
Compensation: $88,380–$117,900 annually
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Business Development Analyst for a full-time remote opportunity with one of our valued clients. This role supports business development and marketing initiatives by developing financial models, preparing executive-level client deliverables, conducting market research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance strategic energy and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate has experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or public accounting and possesses strong analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Modeling
- Develop detailed financial models, including utility savings projections, cash flow analyses, and pro forma profit and loss (P&L) models.
- Translate engineering and technical data into financial analyses and business cases.
- Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to support client decision-making.
- Research financial, market, and industry trends.
- Monitor regulatory changes, tax incentives, and market conditions impacting Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) projects.
Business Development
- Develop executive presentations, financial summaries, proposals, and client-facing materials.
- Support RFQ and RFP responses by gathering information from subject matter experts.
- Review proposals for quality, responsiveness, consistency, and accuracy.
- Proofread and edit client deliverables to ensure professional, polished communications.
- Develop messaging that effectively communicates value, strategic alignment, and competitive differentiators.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, operations, project management, and capital markets teams.
- Coordinate recurring client and internal meetings, including milestone tracking and project updates.
- Monitor project deliverables and action items to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain opportunity tracking and pipeline information within the company's CRM.
- Research prospective clients, project opportunities, utility programs, and target markets.
Relationship Management
- Participate in business development strategy meetings.
- Attend networking events and industry conferences as needed.
- Build strong working relationships across multiple departments and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, or a Big Four accounting firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG).
- Strong financial modeling and analytical experience.
- Experience creating executive-level presentations and business development materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced financial modeling experience.
- Experience supporting RFQ and RFP proposal development.
- Interest or experience in energy, infrastructure, sustainability, or healthcare industries.
- Experience using CRM systems for pipeline and opportunity management.
