Building Systems Analyst III

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Building Systems Analyst III to join a highly skilled IS Technical Services team. If you have an engineering background and a passion for optimizing building systems performance, this is a great opportunity to make a measurable impact.
About the Role:
This role evaluates and enhances the performance of building systems in both new construction and existing facilities. The Analyst leads energy conservation efforts, retro-commissioning, and commissioning (RCx/Cx) initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams including construction management, facilities, and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead site surveys, documentation reviews, and due diligence to identify facility conditions and energy conservation measures

Conduct commissioning scope reviews for new construction projects
-
Execute pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests using CxAlloy
-
Troubleshoot and optimize building system programming and controls
-
Develop technical reports detailing observations, system performance, and recommendations
-
Supervise trade partners and subconsultants when needed
-
Collaborate with internal and external project teams to ensure system documentation and performance outcomes
-
Monitor ongoing energy performance and proactively address any issues or barriers to project completion

Uphold company safety standards, processes, and core values
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
-
7+ years of experience in commissioning or a related field (mechanical, electrical, building automation, or operations)

Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and solve complex technical issues
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office and cloud-based commissioning platforms
Preferred:
-
Engineering Intern (EI) certification
-
Certified Commissioning Professional (ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE)
-
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential
-
Experience with building automation systems design and programming
Travel: Up to 60% to client or project sites
Work Environment:
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 pounds

Frequent use of hands/wrists for data entry and testing equipment

Work may occur in quiet office settings or active construction sites, indoors or outdoors
