Job Description

Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Benefit Reporting Analyst in Plano, TX. This position is primarily responsible for the management of assigned non-qualified compensation plans including the daily benefit plan administration for assigned accounts while communicating, problem solving, and resolving incoming inquiries. Works closely with Client Services Team, Design & Analysis Team, and clients on all aspects of non-qualified benefit plans including endorsement and collateral assignment split dollar, death benefit only plans, defined contribution and defined benefit plans, and index plans. The ideal candidate for this position would be someone with customer service or equivalent experience who is highly organized and an articulate communicator who is also a critical and creative thinker.
Benefit Reporting Analyst Job Responsibilities:
  • Appropriately setting up clients in Salesforce for ongoing reporting
  • Produce, review, and deliver all reports to all clients by deadlines set forth in the Service Timeline
  • Setup and maintain accrual schedules and statements applying proper accounting and legal rules
  • Ensure all service reports are correct based on provided legal documents and by performing simple and complex calculations to verify accrual schedules and projected payout amounts
  • Illustrating benefits plans that reflect accounting, payouts and vesting details
  • Interprets legal plan documents to determine plan service requirements during implementation or conversion processes, and communicates future plan changes internally
  • Familiarity with legal rules as they pertain to accounting and IRS guidelines
  • Familiarity with accounting skills
  • Understanding of Time Value of Money as they pertain to non-qualified plans
  • Stay updated with new regulatory changes
  • Processes contributions, transfers and distributions; Produce benefit payments and associated reporting where applicable; process participant status, address and beneficiary changes.
  • Work with Client Relationship Managers and the Service Manager to insure all clients are satisfied on all levels of services provided
  • Complete and deliver service reports/presentations to all clients for annual reporting
  • Follow standardized processes and procedures to ensure all reports are consistent and correct
  • Process and track client billing statements
  • Performs quality assurance reviews (crosschecks work) for peers. Provides plan back-up support to team members and other Plan Managers as needed
  • Assist in designing creative and effective service materials to support our overall business strategy
  • Educate Clients and Consultants on various benefit plan accounting and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Resource for internal partners on various benefit plan designs and insurance products/performance
  • Maintain data within FileMaker Pro, Benefits Database, various Individual Accounting Detail Spreadsheets, and Salesforce updated at all times
  • Maintain files uploaded to the  Client Portal
  • Work in a team environment building partnerships across all departments
  • Other duties as required

Benefit Reporting Analyst Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience. 
  • 2-5 years experience with a professional firm, preferably in a consulting environment would be a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and FileMaker Pro database system. 
  • Experience or exposure to banking or financial industries
  • Must be able to work onsite
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus strong proofreading skills.
  • Manages difficult client/customer situations, responds promptly to internal and external customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments.
  • Interpret financial information and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effective time management, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Must take ownership and initiative to ensure client expectations are met, including follow through, follow up, and understanding when and how to involve others.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously by establishing priorities, planning ahead, and anticipating potential issues in order to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Proficient with a variety of automated office equipment including but not limited to computer, 10-key calculator, fax machine and photocopier.
  • Must be willing to learn new concepts in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to handle cyclical work pressures with a professional demeanor.
