Location: Dallas or Plano, TX
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Starting at $120,000+/yr (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and rotating holidays

Position Overview:
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Pediatric Critical Care team at a leading medical center with practice sites in Dallas and Plano, TX. This role primarily supports the Intermediate Care Unit, catering to patients with complex conditions who need specialized care beyond what is provided on general floors but do not require intensive care. The APP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care, applying advanced clinical expertise and critical thinking skills to manage complex pediatric cases effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough initial and ongoing physical assessments, including psychological evaluations, tailored to the patient’s age and condition.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans using evidence-based practices; order and interpret diagnostic tests as necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical and procedural skills relevant to pediatric care.
- Provide management, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers, focusing on current treatment plans and preventive health strategies.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives, workshops, and seminars to enhance clinical performance and patient care outcomes.
- Collaborate in research projects, integrating evidence-based practices into patient care plans.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree or higher in nursing with completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Master’s program for Physician Assistants.
- Experience: One year of experience as an APP in PICU, ICU, or ER preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (CPNP-AC) licensure by the Texas State Board of Nursing, including prescriptive authority.
- OR licensure as a Physician Assistant by the Texas Physician Assistant Board.
- Current BLS and PALS certification by the American Heart Association or Red Cross, as per policy.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of pediatric care.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems and delivering high-quality customer service.
- Capability to identify areas for departmental improvement and suggest enhancements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and patient care.
Working Conditions:
- Primary work in a clinical environment with potential exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases.
- Any exceptions to stated qualifications must receive prior approval from the Vice President for Human Resources Administration or their designee.
