Location: Austin, TX 78731
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Fully Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (Open-Ended)
Pay Rate: $18–$20/hour (Depending on Experience)
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Administrative Specialist for a healthcare-focused team in Austin, TX. This fully in-office role plays a vital part in supporting patients, families, and internal staff in a professional and sensitive environment.
This position is ideal for someone with healthcare or medical office experience who can manage complex and emotional conversations with empathy and professionalism. As the first point of contact at the front desk, strong communication skills and a welcoming demeanor are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate personnel

Greet and assist patients and families at the front desk

Maintain and order office supplies

Process, sort, and distribute mail

Prepare, type, copy, and distribute correspondence and forms

Support ongoing and one-time projects as needed

Maintain confidentiality and uphold company standards

Perform administrative tasks using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Qualifications:

Prior experience in a medical or healthcare office environment

Experience working directly with patients and families, especially in home health or emotionally sensitive situations

Strong initiative and ability to work independently

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (intermediate to advanced), and Outlook

Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle difficult conversations with professionalism
