Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite | Monday–Friday
Schedule: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00–$26.00/hour
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a professional and organized Administrative Assistant for a contract opportunity in Meriden, CT. This fully onsite position provides front desk reception and administrative support to ensure efficient daily office operations and a positive experience for visitors, clients, employees, and vendors.
The ideal candidate has previous administrative, receptionist, or office support experience, excellent customer service skills, and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary front desk receptionist and greet visitors, clients, employees, and vendors professionally.

Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and correspondence.

Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming office environment.

Receive, sort, distribute, and track incoming mail, packages, and deliveries.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception and front office area.

Coordinate conference room scheduling, meeting logistics, and room preparation.

Ensure meeting and common areas are organized, stocked, and ready for use.

Order and maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory.

Provide administrative support to managers and team members.

Prepare documents, reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, and presentations.

Maintain accurate records, files, and administrative documentation.

Assist with scheduling, calendar management, data entry, filing, and general clerical duties.

Support special projects and company initiatives as assigned.

Perform additional administrative and office support duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years of administrative assistant, office coordinator, office administrator, receptionist, front desk, or related office support experience preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Teams preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with employees, visitors, vendors, and leadership.

Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.

Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced office environment.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Experience with scheduling, calendar management, and meeting coordination.

Experience with data entry, filing, record management, and general clerical support.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.

Ability to work onsite in Meriden, CT, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Physical Requirements

Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, and operate standard office equipment throughout the workday.

Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.

Ability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
