Senior Accountant
Location: Eastland, TX (100% Onsite, Monday – Friday)

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Senior Accountant on behalf of our client located in Eastland, TX, approximately one hour west of Fort Worth. The company is seeking an experienced accounting professional who can step in as a leader—someone capable of coaching others, strengthening internal controls, and supporting a maturing accounting function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple locations

Post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy

Conduct monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Perform margin analysis, job costing reviews, and inventory accounting

Analyze and report variances from budget or forecast to actual

Generate month-end financial notes and WIP (Work In Progress) calculations

Support operational leadership with financial insights and reporting

Participate in cross-functional project teams to drive cost reduction and process improvements

Train and mentor junior accounting team members

Continuously improve and implement more robust accounting processes in response to growth
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Degrees in Finance, Business, or from online-only institutions such as University of Phoenix will not be considered)

8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience

Demonstrated experience in job costing (manufacturing, construction, or similar industries)

Proven ability to coach, train, or lead team members, even without formal management titles

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, formulas, and data manipulation)

Strong time management, communication, and analytical skills
-
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Sage ERP
-
Prior experience working within a private equity (PE) owned company
