Job Title: Account Resolutions Specialist (Collections)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Location: Fully Remote (must work PST hours, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: up to $28/hr
About the Role
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring an Account Resolutions Specialist to support a financial services client. This position is fully remote but requires availability during Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours. The ideal candidate will have recent collections experience in consumer lending and real estate and must have prior experience working in a credit union or large banking environment.
The Account Resolutions Specialist will be responsible for managing delinquent accounts, including Visa credit and debit cards, lines of credit, secured loans, signature loans, real estate loans, and home equity lines of credit. This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to secure repayment solutions while maintaining professionalism and compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Manage collection activities for delinquent consumer and real estate loans.

Review delinquency reports and verify loan statuses.

Contact members via phone, email, and correspondence to resolve delinquencies.

Negotiate repayment arrangements, discuss financial options, and recommend financial counseling when appropriate.

Utilize skip tracing and other investigative methods to locate members.

Recommend repossession, charge-offs, or extensions as needed.

Monitor insurance coverage on secured loans to protect collateral.

Document all collection actions, conversations, and arrangements in compliance with policies.

Maintain compliance with applicable collection laws, regulations, and company procedures.

Deliver a professional, customer-focused experience while handling sensitive and difficult conversations.

Cross-sell additional financial services when appropriate.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
-
3+ years of recent collections experience in a credit union or large banking environment.

Hands-on experience with consumer loans and real estate collections required.

Knowledge of collection procedures, related laws, and regulations.

Familiarity with loan products, account ownership, insurance requirements, and U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
Skills & Abilities:

Ability to manage high-stress situations with professionalism.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Proficiency with collection systems, credit bureau tools, and Microsoft Office.
