This role will focus on maintaining system stability, scalability, and reliability across cloud-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services, automation, containerized workloads, and CI/CD pipelines.

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a hybrid opportunity based in Addison, Texas. This role will focus on maintaining system stability, scalability, and reliability across cloud-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services, automation, containerized workloads, and CI/CD pipelines.
As part of the Technology Operations team, you will design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure solutions that ensure performance, resilience, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Ensure high availability, scalability, and robustness of production systems and applications.

Monitor systems using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, or similar platforms to proactively detect and resolve issues.

Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or related automation tools.

Manage containerized and serverless workloads in a production environment.

Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Define and track key performance metrics, establish alert thresholds, and participate in incident management.

Contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of progressive experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.

Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) or CloudFormation.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and serverless architecture.

Understanding of networking fundamentals, including load balancers, IP management, and subnetting.

Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, EFK Stack, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic).

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for incident management and root cause analysis.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.

Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
