Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Regulatory Affairs Manager with an energy client in Dallas, TX. The Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for managing regulatory affairs. This position monitors, analyzes, and influences regulatory issues that support competitive markets and the organizations strategic priorities. This position also supports business development opportunities. This is a hybrid role, reporting to the Downtown Dallas office 3 days a week.

Regulatory Affairs Manager Responsibilities:
- Represent the company in regulatory forums.
- Understand the company, its products, services, values, and business direction by initiating and cultivating collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Monitor, analyze, and influence regulatory issues that create commercial and/or operational risk or opportunity for the company’s lines of business and functions.
- Develop, implement, and oversee activities involved in assuring compliance. Work with internal customers to ensure compliance with state public utility regulations.
- Provide communications to internal clients and customers regarding regulatory issues.
- Assist operations team with regulatory requirements in areas of enrollment, billing, etc.
- Assist with training, scripting, and TPV (Third Party Verification) compliance within sales channels.
- Assist in preparation and submission of reporting requirements.
- Research and interpret existing or recently implemented regulations.
- Provide regulatory expertise for business development opportunities, including asset management and demand response.
- Manage relationships with government agencies.
- Manage Customer Concerns Specialist, assist as needed with incoming complaints.
- Manage, coach, and develop the regulatory team.
- Provide support to other teams when needed.
Regulatory Affairs Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with a focus on government, business/finance, or energy.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the utility industry with a preference for strong analytical skills and/or technical understanding.
- At least 3 years' experience leading and coaching a team.
- Knowledge of legal/regulatory concepts and terminology.
- Proven ability and interest to keep abreast of compliance and regulatory change in the industry.
- Excellent analytical skills are needed to review and assess regulatory issuances, identify relevant regulatory issuances and to develop summary reports.
- Excellent written and verbal skills are necessary to communicate in a highly effective manner with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
- Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to translate technical and/or complex information into key messages tailored to specific audiences
- Ability to quickly grasp business/industry issues and work on tight deadlines.
- Ability to travel as needed.
