Healthcare Controller

Must-Have Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience (mid-career level); healthcare or hospital experience is a must
- Communication: Strong communication skills, particularly in working with leaders across departments
- Work Experience: Must be able to work with diverse, multicultural teams, including offshore teams (experience with offshore teams preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA (strongly preferred)
- Previous experience with offshore teams, particularly in the Philippines (due to company’s outsourcing practices)
Job Summary:
The Controller will oversee the activities of the Accounting Department, including general accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, and reimbursement. The role involves accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management and corporate. The Controller will also provide financial advice to achieve institutional objectives and be responsible for the preservation of hospital assets.
Responsibilities:
- Inform the CFO of the financial position of the facility and any accounting issues
- Coordinate audits (internal and external) and other special projects (cost reports, AHCA reporting)
- Provide timely capital budget requests with complete business justifications
- Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental goals
- Oversee the consolidated financial and statistical information reported in the Monthly Operating Report (MRO)
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial schedules
- Effectively manage the department to ensure timely and cost-effective performance
- Conduct regular departmental meetings to keep the team informed of service line, hospital, and corporate updates
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Four years of hospital or healthcare accounting experience
- Supervisory experience
